Perfecting The "No Make Up" Make up Look

Perfecting the “no makeup” makeup look

Whether its flu season and you don’t have the energy to do a full face of makeup, or it’s summer time and it’s too hot to wear makeup, perfecting the “no makeup” makeup look can give you that lively natural look without putting in too much energy or wearing too many layers. It’s key to prep the skin with your preferred moisturizers and primers to smooth your skin, to provide a lively glow as a base. For foundations, a good option to go towards is a tinted moisturizer, or tinted sunscreen, and yes…you should still be wearing sunscreen all year round. Wearing sunscreen to avoid sun damage will also reduce the look of aging and wrinkles. It’s important to conceal smartly! The key for the “no makeup” makeup look is to look as if you’re not wearing anything and to put in as little effort and layers as possible. Focus on just concealing under eyes to brighten them up and any blemishes if you want the look of “perfect” skin. For eyebrows I normally fill them in and conceal the top and bottom for a super clean and bold brow, but when it comes to a natural low effort look, brushing them with an eyebrow gel with do the trick. For lashes, make sure to separate the hairs and use a lash curler if you want to go completely natural with the eyes. But to amp the look, I’d recommend using your favorite waterproof mascara. I prefer waterproof for this type of look since it’s normally ideal for hot weather or sick season, if it’s hot we don’t want our mascara to bleed as we sweat, and when we’re sick watery eyes can cause the same effect. To finalize the natural, glow, and low effort look, using a gel or cream blush and highlighter will add that POP to your skin without adding too many layers.
